Regina is a gamer, writer, teacher, and podcaster living in the Pacific Northwest. She completed her Ph.D. in 2011 from Washington State University in Vancouver and continues to teach there part time. Regina’s research interests focus on women and technology, and her dissertation discusses female gamers and identity in digital role playing games. A lifelong geek and technology enthusiast, Regina recently started a Girls Who Code club in support of their mission to close the gender gap in technology.

To continue the conversations about gender and gaming that Regina started during her research, she started a podcast called Game on Girl. Called the “NPR of game podcasts” by Chris Brown of The Married Gamers, the podcast features women involved in the game industry, and tackles some of the complicated issues in the gaming community. Season 2 began in the spring of 2018 and will premiere new episodes monthly.

  1. Hey!
I missed you guys as well. I had a great time at my mom’s for Thanksgiving and celebrating her 75th birthday.

While there I bought my first cooling pillow. I’m not sure how I’ve lived without it. Mine is Comfort Revolution from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

I actually own the Minion pillow buddy. If anyone likes to take naps on the couch or tends to fall asleep while watching TV or is just a big, nerdy kid, you’ll love a pillow buddy.

I added the solar system glass set to my Amazon wish list. Until I looked them up I seriously thought you guys were talking about eyeglasses.

I also added a Dragon bookmark from MyBookmarks.

I took the Patronus & House test. My patronus sucks: sphynx cat. There’s no way to determine a patronus with only 4-5 parameters. Don’t get me started! I am a dragon and that’s all there is to it. And I’m Gryffindor.

Mom had a very geeky birthday. We got her a new wi-fi digital picture frame
(Pix-Star 10.4 Inch Wi-Fi Cloud Digital Photo Frame FotoConnect XD with Email, Online Providers, iPhone & Android app, DLNA and Motion Sensor) and an Epson scanner for slides and negatives.
